On Fillmore

I consider myself fairly fanatical about Wilco and the band's various side projects (The Minus Five, The Autumn Defense, Loose Fur, Golden Smog, etc.), but until recently i wasn't familiar with On Fillmore, which features Wilco drummer, Glenn Kotche, and sometime-Wilco producer/Loose Fur contributor, Jim O'Rourke. Shame on me, Extended Vacation is their third album. It's heavy on vibes and random percussive noises (Kotche is a fantastically inventive yet understated drummer). It's jazz or mood music--don't file this under rock or alt country. This is my favorite tune on the album, which is occasionally boring (i won't lie). Still give this a minute or two, it goes places when the drums/percussion suddenly locks in with the vibes.
